Greek theatre of Taormina

It is a theatre erected by the Greeks in the 3rd century BC and modified by the Romans in the 2nd century AD to make room for gladiator fights. Originally, it could host up to 10,000 people. It is located on a panoramic point from which you can enjoy Etna and the Ionian Sea. Today it is home to concerts, movie festivals and fashion shows.

Palazzo Corvaja

Located in the centre of Taormina, it is a palace buit in the 10th century by the Arabs. It was named after the family of nobles who owned it from 1538 until 1945.

Public Gardens

The public gardens were the private park of the residence of Lady Florence Trevelyan, a noblewoman who lived in Taormina at the end of the 19th century. The gardens are full of flowers and plants from all the world.

Taormina Cathedral

Built around 1400 on the remains of an existing church, it looks like a fortress because of its bell tower and stone façade. The Cathedral, dedicated to St. Nicholas of Bari, contains some great artworks.
