#2 Be amazed by the Pantheon

The Pantheon is one of those moments where you just need to stop for a second and admire one of the most incredible, unique and best-preserved monuments in Rome.

Originally built as “the temple for all the gods” now is the burial place of Rome’s kings and the famous Raphael, among others figures.

#3 Visit the famous archeological site, the Roman Forum

The Roman Forum was the region where public and religious life took place in ancient Rome. The Forum is, along with the Colosseum, the largest display of the greatness of the Roman Empire that can be seen today.

Besides a large number of temples in the forum, pay extra attention to the Trajan’s Column, the Arch of Titus, and the Circus Maximus.

The Roman Forum is one of the most beautiful and interesting places in Rome and it’s easy to spend several hours walking around its temples.

#4 A coin in the Trevi Fountain to return to Rome

This enormous fountain is the biggest in the entire city of Rome. So take your time to appreciate!

The local legend says that if you throw a coin into the Trevi Fountain, with your back to the fountain and throwing the coin with your right hand over your left shoulder, you’ll ensure a return to Rome. It’s worth trying.

#5 Walk around Piazza Navona

One of the main tourist things to do in Rome is to visit this wonderful square. Located right in the center of the city, here you’ll find 3 beautiful fountains, one of them, the central, the famous Fontana dei Quattro Fiumi by Bernini, a true work of art.

Don’t forget to check the church of Sant’Agnese in Agone by Borromini and that in Piazza Navona you will always find artists and painters showing and selling their works, so enjoy our day looking around.

#6 Check a panoramic view of the city in Pincio

The gardens of Pincio lie on a hill above the famous Piazza del Popolo and its main attraction is the panoramic view located at Piazzale Napoleone. You’ll not regret if go there at the end of the evening to check the sunset also, rent a bike to go through the park.

#7 Go shop at Via Condotti

If luxury is your thing, this is the place for you! This street of approximately 300 meters of length has some of the most expensive and international brands. You can find Dior, Prada, Giorgio Armani, Louis Vuitton, and much more. If shopping is not our thing, just the walk is worth it.

While you are there, don’t miss the chance to drink a coffee at the oldest bar in Italy, currently in operation, the Antico Caffè Greco (opened in 1760).

#8 Enjoy the nightlife in Campo de’ Fiori

It’s your vacation and you need a break, where do you go? Campo de’ Fiori! In this neighborhood, you’ll find different options of bars to enjoy your night.

You can check a small, historic local wine bar like Il Vinaietto and taste some of the best wines. Or you can go to a hidden club where you need to ring a doorbell upon entry and enjoy delicious cocktails while listening to blues, jazz or funk. Have fun! There’s a lot of options for you to enjoy your trip.

#9 Visit the smallest country in the world

The Vatican is the smallest country in the world, but in spite of being tiny, there is so much to see and do there.

While in the Vatican, you must visit the Vatican Museum and be amazed by Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel. Also, you can’t leave the country before going to St. Peter’s Basilica and ascent to the dome.

#10 Get lost in Trastevere

Forget about your map and walk around to have a good look at the bohemian neighborhood of the Eternal City. This traditional Roman neighborhood is full of life, bars, and restaurants. Also check for jewelry boutiques, perfumes, and handicrafts.

While in Trastevere visit the Basilica located in Piazza di Santa Maria in Trastevere, right in the center of the Trastevere district. It was the first official site of worship of Christianity built in Rome and is lovely!

#11 Look for the secret keyhole

If you want a unique view you have to go to Piazza dei Cavalieri di Malta. There you will find a door and as you look through the keyhole, surprise! You’ll see the Saint Peter’s Basilica across the city framed in the vegetation.

No one knows if it was designed that way or is just a coincidence, but is definitely something to check while in Rome.
