Description

There is more than violins.

Cremona is the homeland of the greatest violin makers of all time, but also the birthplace of important composers, musicians and singers.

The tour includes a visit to the Piazza del Comune and the Cathedral to learn about the main events of  local music History; you will then go to Piazza Roma and its Public Gardens, to discover the story of the ancient violin makers’ district, and the life of Antonio Stradivari, the Amatis and the Guarneris;

Finally you will finish at the Museo del Violino (ticket included) where the most precious violins are preserved together with documents, artworks and ancient artifacts. At the end of the tour visitors can enjoy an “audizione” (a 30-minute concert played on an ancient instrument) in the Auditorium Giovanni Arvedi (subject to availability – Fee: € 7,00 per person).

The walking tour can be combined with the moving experience of a real violin maker’s workshop where a professional master craftsman shows tools and phases of a violin’s building process (not included – fee: € 60,00 per group).
